These elements work together to reduce road noise and dampen the loud sounds that are common at job sites.

RAM vehicles have both active and passive noise reduction systems. The windshield, for example, has acoustic glass with an extra layer that dampens road sounds when you are on the street. Furthermore, the hood is sculpted to direct the air over the truck rather than at the wipers.

RAM trucks also come with an Active Noise Cancellation system. This unique feature is similar to the technology used to make high-end over-the-ear headphones.

There are four microphones in the cabin to detect and define unwanted noises. The system then broadcasts the opposite sound over the truck's speakers. The result is that it literally cancels out the drone of the road or wind or the clanging of a job site.

Finally, available air suspension not only helps create a smoother ride for passengers it also limits the sounds that occur when the car goes over cracks and bumps on the road.

If you would like to experience this unique set of features, contact our St. Paul dealership today to schedule a test drive.

Common Diesel Engine Problems That Vermilion Truck Owners Need to Know About

(Posted on Aug 17, 2021 at 12:52PM by Josh Lew)
<a href="[New%2CRAM%2C1500%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C]"><img src="/images/upload/August_2021/ram_1500_towing_diesel.jpg"alt="A RAM 1500 pulling a speedboat on a trailer out of the water at a landing"/></a>In many ways, diesel engines are easier to maintain than their gas peers (which is why Ram fans prefer them). However, these motors do experience occasional issues, and it is important to recognize problems early so that a trained technician can handle them before they get worse.

Here are two of the most common issues for diesel engines.

Overheating is the most common issue faced by diesel engines. It can lead to worse problems, such as distorted cylinder heads and pistons or a damaged crankshaft. Luckily, all pickups have a gauge that will warn you when the engine gets too hot.

Oil Leakage

Old gaskets and seals can crack or peel away and allow lubricant to spill out. Many oil leaks are slow, so you may not notice them until it's too late. This issue not only affects the working of the engine, but it can also pollute the environment and pose a fire risk. You can check your levels regularly using the onboard computer or a dipstick and visit a service centre when it gets low without explanation.

Regular maintenance and early inspections when you suspect a problem can keep your diesel engine in perfect shape. Contact our service centre today if you need assistance with your pickup truck.

Why Your Work Truck Needs Heavy Duty Coil Spring Suspension in Cold Lake, AB

(Posted on Aug 12, 2021 at 10:38AM by Josh Lew)
<a href="[New%2CRam%2C3500%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C4WD%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C]"><img src="/images/upload/August_2021/ram_3500_heavy_duty_shocks.jpg"alt="A 2021 RAM 3500 carrying two pallets of bricks in its bed with the liftgate open"/></a>Coil springs are an essential part of any vehicle’s suspension system. They absorb the impact of a rough and uneven road, making for a smoother ride and protecting other drivetrain components from rattling and wear-and-tear.

Pickups like the RAM 3500 have heavy-duty coil springs, which use denser materials to provide better protection than standard units. If your truck lacks this extra-strong component, you can visit our service centre to find out if you can upgrade to more-capable ones.

Here are some of the reasons to use a truck with heavy-duty suspension.

You can carry heavier loads

Heavy-duty coil springs can handle heavier loads than regular ones and will provide a stiffer, more responsive ride when you are towing a boat or construction equipment.

You can drive on rougher roads

Heavy-duty coil springs are ideal for rocky, uneven roads. They provide comfort for you and your passengers and keep vehicle components from breaking.

You get more clearance room

Heavy-duty coil springs can boost your ground clearance by an inch or more compared to regular units, and they will keep that distance from the road even if you are carrying a hefty load.

To find a truck with heavy-duty suspension or to inquire about installing new coils, contact our dealership today. We will happily schedule you an appointment with our service team at your earliest convenience.

However, other components also need lubrication, especially when cold weather rolls around.

Here are some elements in your car that you should consider lubricating, either yourself or at a service centre, especially before it gets cold.

Window tracks

Window tracks need a dry Teflon or silicone spray at least once a year. Be sure to cover the front, rear, and top channels, then open and close each a few times to ensure an even spread.

Hood latch

A hood latch needs aerosol lithium grease. For the best lube, apply the substance to the locking mechanism. You can also add the dry Teflon from your windows to the inside of the lock cylinder.

Door hinges

A little aerosol lithium grease can also help the door hinges work smoothly and protect them from rust. You need to make sure the hinge area is clean before application.

Lock cylinders

These little slots are where you put your key to lock and unlock the doors. You can inject some dry Teflon into the cylinders to lubricate them for smooth operation.

A skilled auto technician can help you with these other lubrication jobs during regularly scheduled maintenance. Contact our service centre to make an appointment today.
