The 2022 Grand Cherokee L’s interior space and storage are ample compared to most vehicles in its class. This is thanks to its generous headroom, legroom, and rear seat hip room. The Grand Cherokee L’s cargo area also has enough room for luggage or other items you may bring on your trip. While the front seats are comfortable, the rear seats offer less legroom than other SUVs in this class. While there is decent headroom in the rear seat, taller passengers may feel cramped when sitting back there for long periods. The Grand Cherokee L has plenty of small storage compartments throughout the cabin, including door pockets and a glovebox. Two cup holders up front can easily hold large drinks like coffee mugs or water bottles without tipping over, thanks to their weighted bases. The rear seat offers enough legroom, but there is not much headroom due to the roofline lowering by nearly an inch compared to other Cherokees. The cargo area is average at best but can be expanded considerably with the optional fold-flat rear seats. Moreover, the doors have map pockets on both sides that can fit maps or books without them folding over or getting crumpled up during travel – this is nice if you want to take advantage of them for carrying things instead of keeping them in the center console or glove box where they might get damaged by items such as pens or change that may fall out when you open and close them frequently.
